An update on the Lighthouse Club and how we have been supporting them

Here at Scaffold Finance, we are proud supporters of the Lighthouse club. The Lighthouse Club are a progressive charity centred around the mental wellbeing of those who work in the construction sector.

Following from this, they have launched a new campaign called “Help Inside the Hard Hat”. This was created with the intention of raising awareness of the sheer volume of those who struggle with mental health across the industry.

How do the Lighthouse Club support those in the construction sector?

They provide a selection of free mental health and wellbeing training programmes. These masterclasses encourage employees to break the taboo surrounding mental health conversations. These conversations will then hopefully promote access to help early before breaking point. It also helps people suffering with mental health conditions to feel seen and heard at work and reaffirms to them that they are not alone.

They also have a 24-hour helpline for those in the industry and their relatives. The Lighthouse club don’t only support construction workers, but also their loved ones. So, at any time of day or night, there is someone at the other end of the phone there to give advice and support on a whole range of matters. They are trained to support those with mental, physical, and financial troubles.

Additionally, they have a construction industry app for those that don’t feel like speaking with someone. So instead, the app provides an abundance of helpful material to guide those struggling on how to help themselves before taking the next step to seeking professional help.
